Ramayana Yathra

Ramayanam, known as Adhi Kavyam in Indian sub-continent (India - Sri Lanka – Nepal) , first ever documented epic history that rose on the lives of iconic characters Rama, Sita and Ravana, perhaps known to every corner of the world, even today. Fact is that this story travelled for many millenniums in the history of human kind.
While most of the modern world, still in dilemma classifying the story under mythology or history. It is SRI LANKA that takes the credit of seeing it as history and no more as myth or mythology. There were many strong analysis, research and reasoning involved in bringing the historicity to the age old known story to you, me and the world.
The capital island of the mighty emperor Ravana was Lanka and is believed to be today’s Sri Lanka. Adding to the belief, Government of Sri Lanka identified over 50 sites in and around
its territory referring to the legendary story and is further supported strongly by its local legends.
RAMAYANA YATHRA SRI LANKA has taken steps in bringing light to these historic places and worked out a possible travel circuit for tourists and pilgrims.
For this Ramayana Trail which is forecasted to be the world’s historic trail, a traveler or pilgrim needed to backpack
the baggage sufficient enough for not less than 08 to 10 days.
